Golden Guineas
All the drama of the races, built for everyone in the room.

Overview
Golden Guineas turns a gathering with friends and family into a complete interactive race night. Players join on their phones, study simplified racecards and stake virtual Guineas before watching curated real races together on the main screen. A host controls the pace of the event, while live standings, themed twists and dramatic reveals keep everyone involved from the first bet to the final race. It captures the tension and theatre of racing without relying on real-money betting or specialist racing knowledge.
The problem
Traditional race nights can be brilliant shared experiences, but they are difficult to run well. Printed racecards, manual calculations, fixed videos and handwritten scoreboards create work for the host and long pauses for everyone else. Online betting products solve the administration but turn racing into an individual, real-money activity. Neither is designed around the energy, rivalry and shared reactions of a group in the same room.
Our approach
Golden Guineas was designed around the room rather than the individual screen. Phones handle private choices and personal balances. The television creates the shared spectacle. A dedicated host experience controls when betting opens, when it locks, when a race is shown and when the result is revealed. Historical race details and outcomes remain hidden until the right moment, allowing real races to feel live again. The technology handles the administration so the host can concentrate on the atmosphere.
The product
Golden Guineas is a responsive web app that connects player phones, a host control centre and a shared television display. Players join by name, receive a starting balance of virtual Guineas and place one win bet on each race using a simplified racecard and fixed odds. The host advances the event, closes betting, starts the replay and enters the winning cloth number before the system settles every bet and updates the live leaderboard. The first event contains eight curated races and 68 runners. Chaos Cards introduce unexpected rules and tactical decisions, while features such as the Broke Club and final-race Golden Ticket keep players involved even when their original balance has gone.
Current stage
Golden Guineas is now live and has been successfully used at a real race-night event with players. The complete eight-race experience has been delivered in a live setting, including player betting, host controls, shared-screen race presentation, race settlement and the leaderboard. A separate dress-rehearsal environment remains available for safely testing changes without affecting the live experience. Having progressed beyond development and testing into real-world use, Golden Guineas is now a proven, operational product, with the next phase focused on refining the experience based on feedback and preparing it for further events.
Outcomes
Golden Guineas has progressed from an idea for a family race night into a working multi-screen event product. The first complete race pack, betting engine, host controls, television mode, spoiler protections, automatic settlement and live leaderboard are all in place. A separate one-race dress rehearsal has also been created so the experience can be tested end to end without revealing results or changing the live event. The next measure of success is whether a host can run the entire evening confidently and whether players remain engaged, competitive and entertained across all eight races.
